Hawaiian All Inclusive Vacation

I found Overman Hawaii International on the internet when I googles in "all inclusive hawaiian vacations" We wanted to go on a trip with less hassle and so we thought that an all inclusive should be the thing to do. I spoke with Wayne, the owner of Overman Hawaii International on several occasions. We went ahead and booked with putting a down payment of a couple thousand dollars. We would then be making payments every month of $500.00. We had until February to pay it off. Which I did.

Our set time of vacation was set for May 15th, 2010. However, come the end of February, my husbands R&R got pushed ahead by a week. So we had to rearrange our trip to go May 9th, 2010. I called Delta airlines to see if they can help me out and they were so kind as to waive ALL the fees that would occur under normal circumstances. BUT, when I call the travel agency, they wanted to charge me $150.00 per person. I got really upset and told him, it was not my fault, it was the Military's fault. Well, he finally brought the charges down to $50.00/per person. Which I thought was ridiculous as well. But we paid it.

I arrived in Hawaii the night of May 9th. I had a lot of luggage and was very tired. Was suppose to have a greater. No greater. I had to keep calling them. Then, he was unable to help me to the shuttle because he had bad knees. So, here I am trying to get to the shuttle. THEN, I find out that the shuttle tip was NOT included.

Our adventures started the 3rd day after we arrived. We had a really great time.

Visit to Kauai - Our visit to Kauai was awesome. We were picked up down the street from our hotel, where others were also picked up. We were escorted to the Airport and transported by airplane to the island of Kauai. We then got on a tour bus and we were off for our adventure for the day. We were on this adventure all day. We got to see the ocean, beautiful rainforest with trees that seemed to be higher than the eye could see. Water falls that brought fresh water with a sound so peaceful. The sites we seen were unbelieveble. It was like paradise. We also did some shopping as well during our stops.

Visit to Maui - We went on the Road to Hana Nature Safari package. We were picked up by the shuttle and escorted to the airport. Flown to Maui where we then got a tour guide from hell. Not that she was mean, but by the time we were done with our tour, which was a full day, we knew everything about her life. She did not do much of telling about the island. So, my friends, If you go to Maui and take a tour with Robert Hawaii, make sure you don't get Peggy Sue as your driver. There was a lady on our tour that wanted to relocate to Hawaii and the tour guide put her down and told her, she would never make it as a massage therapist in Hawaii, that there was too much competition for her. We did manage to get through the day with see some really great sites. Among the many sites that we visited was Wai Kani Falls, Wailua Falls, got to adventure into trees that had roots that seemed to intwine together to make a bridge over you. We got to see black sand beaches and many other beautiful wonders of Hawaii. We got to do a little shopping and even got a coconut from a tree for myself still in it's husk.

Visit to the Big Island - Again, we were picked up by the shuttle,escorted to the airport and flown to the Big Island. We did some shopping as well there. Got to visit a nice coffee plantation. They let us pick some coffee beans from the bushes and taste test coffee. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I never knew before, but Hawaii doesn't have any preditors. They have no wolves, no snakes, no lions, tigers or bears...oh my! They do have wild cow, wild hogs and mongoose. Which was initially brought over to kill the rats, but they found out quickly that the rat sleeps in the day the mongoose sleeps in the night. So that left them with the over population of rats and mongoose.

We stayed on Ohau in Ohana West Hotel. Since my husband was a deployed soldier, they upgraded our standard room to the next level up and put us on the 14th floor with an ocean view. It was nice, but loud at night. I did however bring my ear plugs and that helped.

We ate at Dukes Canoe Club Restaurant several times. Located right on the beach. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Breakfast and lunch we ate the buffet. Dukes has really good food. When in Ohau, you must visit Dukes. If you want a table up close to the front, ask them for a table with a view.

A couple things we got to do that we liked the most are:

Scuba Diving which we went with Aaron's Dive Shop. The staff there were great. Very professional and organized. We dove down to 40feet. The water was so clear. We seen so many different kind of fish and a hugh turtle. Thank goodness no sharks.

We had a full day at Kualoa Ranch, which included horse back riding, Movie Site and Ranch Tour, Movie Site and Ranch Tour & Ranch Tour by All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). The best of the 4 was the ATV riding.

We got to go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. It's definitely a tropical paradise. We swam with the most beautiful and colorful fish. We were told we had to bring $7.50 for admission, which was a little upsetting, considering that it's suppose to be an all inclusive vacation. But, since we are military, we got in free, so that put me at ease.

Another restuarant we ate at was, Cheese Burger Paradise. Now, if you love Cheese Burgers, french fries and onion rings, then this is the place to go. I don't eat any of that food. I did get to order a Garden Burger and had a salad.

I did have to call on most of the excursions for time and location of pick up. The locations that Overmen put were mostly wrong. I was also told first that the tour guides tip was NOT included, then I was told they were. I feel that the travel agent should ask the client what kind of food they eat before picking restaurants and if we did not have the extra days that we did not include in the price/package, we would have had about 5 Restaurant Vouchers that we would not have been able to use. And that my friends are expensive. Just for the Cheese Burger Paradise, the bill came to $49.00 and some change. So, the agent lost points for that as well. I feel that better comunication should be exercised and it would have been nice if they would have waived the fees for us, knowing it was not our fault but the Militaries. I mean, if Delta Airlines could waive them, why couldn't they. He just said, "sorry, but it's in the contract"

Over all, our vacation which lasted 2weeks and 4days, was a fantastic vaction. I know I will next time for sure. It's all about "Communication and Customer Service"

Therma Care Memory Foam Pet Bed

Our dog, Sarah is 14.5 years old now and well, her body isn't like it used to be anymore. Her back leg started bothering her and when they get older, they start to have ailments. I read that a good thing to do is make their bedding as comfortable as possible for them. So, I went out in search of another foam bed. I had bought our other dog a bigger one at Petsmart, but I didn't want to really drive across town unless I had to. I was at Walmart and I thought I would just check out their dog beds and see if they had what I was looking for. And what do ya know, there was one, right there. Of course, I take it down, feel the texture, sqeeze it and even put it on the floor and sit on it. I know that sounds funny, but I figure, if I like the way it feels, then Sarah will too. It was perfect. I bought it.

When I got the bed home, I called Sarah over to give it a try. She smelled around it first and made herself right at home on her new bed. I can tell she loves it because she won't get off it, not even to come into the living room.

Easy Tone, Reebok Footwear for Women

I walk anywhere from 5-12 miles per day and I work out 5 days a week which includes weight training and cardio. I know that I need a really good walking shoe as well as a work out shoe. I decided that money was not an issue when it comes to my feet.

While shopping with my daughter, I went into Finish Line to look at Asics and then I came across the Easy Tone by Reebok. I normally wear a size 7, but in Tennis Shoes, I wear size 8. When buying a pair of Tennis Shoes, you need to have some wiggle room for your toes. The reason being is because when people start to sweat, they swell up, so you need that extra room for your feet to expand.

I like the Easy tone because of the bottom with it's enhanced underfoot foam cushioning. Makes your walk feel like you are in slippers. My feet normally are achy by the end of the day with all my walking, but since I bought the Easy Tone Shoes, I have more energy and my feet don't hurt. I also like the fact that they help with your hamstrings, calves and glutes. I can feel my calves are getting a great work out from them.

They sold me the inside Dr. Sholtz soles. They were a little tight and I asked if they would stretch and he said yes, but they didn't. I took the inside soles out and the Easy Tone Shoe fit much better and fit perfectly fine with out them. I did however put them in my Asics and now, my Asics feel much better.

Ripped off by University of Phoenix

Is there anyone out there that has gone through University of Phoenix for their education and was screwed by them? Them telling you that you have a grant, that you DON'T have to pay back? Then almost to Graduation time and you get stuck with their financing calling you, telling you that you have a loan for like $15,000.00?

This has happened to my daughter. I have also gone on www.ripoffreport.com and found out a lot of crap on them.

If they are going to make her pay all this back, I'm going to be getting a Class Action Law Suit processed and I need more people to come forward.

McDonalds Customer Service & The Food

I have been to many McDonalds in my life time and most of the ones I have been to; the people are down right rude. I lived in Southern California, Texas, and now North Carolina.

In California, they are most rude there.

In Texas, they seem to be a little more friendlier

In North Carolina, everyone appears to be very friendly here.

They seemed to have done away with the All American Meals: 2 Cheese Burger Meal. They call it something different here in NC. Anyway, you can actually still buy that meal, if you ask for it.

If you want your french fried HOT, ask them to not put salt on them. This is a sure way to get hot french fries.

So for the most part, McDonalds has my thumbs up when it comes to fast food restaurants.

I was doing a mystery shop at Levi's in the El Paso Outlet shops when I found these Levi Jeans. I tried on like 5 pairs of Levi's. I settled on this pair called, Low Flare 542. They ride low, but not too low and they have a flare to the bottom legs.

Levi Strauss Jeans is definitely #1 in my book when it comes to a great pair of Jeans.

What we found: The Magic Bullet does an excellent job of whipping. Great for preparing eggs for an omelet. Makes the eggs fluffy and in my opinion, the more beaten the egg, the better the omelet turns out.

We make awesome smoothies. When I packed in the ice and fruit though, the stuff on top didn't get properly blended. The manual recommends, what they call a pulse and shake., which means picking up the Bullet and shake it in between blender pulses. That worked, but they didn't mention that in the infomercial.

Chopping was not good. Especially with the nuts, onions and garlic. I either ended up with unchopped pieces or icky paste. Chopping by hand does a far better job. I don't use it much for chopping, unless I'm make my doggie treats

The Magic Bullet is excellent for reducing your kitchen clutter. The downside is that it can't handle full onions or tomatoes. In the infomercial they use cherry tomatoes and pearl onions. In reality you'll have to quarter your tomatoes and onions before throwing them in.

The small size also means that if you're preparing a large dish, using a food processor or blender would be far easier. So you might want to keep one around. I have one that I have been using for 23yrs and it still works awesome.

The Magic Bullet includes a set of mug-shaped blending cups so that you can blend and drink in the same utensil. This makes it fun at social gatherings and less to clean up afterwards.

Two blades are included, one for chopping/blending, and one for mixing/grinding. Using the wrong one will make your recipe come out wrong.

The Bottom Line: The bullet is very useful and convenient for making whipping items like eggs and for making smoothies in small quantities. It is easy to store and easy to clean. We did not find it useful for chopping items like onion and garlic, and the cups are pretty small. Still, if it fits your needs, its quick and easy.

The Bullet is a the item to purchase. The bullet is a great addition to your kitchen ware. You won't be disappointed, but also remember that it's not perfect and can not do everything, so be patient with you bullet and have fun with it, use your imagination and try different foods in it. We have had our Magic Bullet for about 7yrs now and absolutely believe in this product 100%. In fact, We are going to have to purchase a new Blender soon because we have almost worn out our blender.

Disney World

We went to Disney World, Florida Nov 29, 2007 to Dec 05, 2007. We booked our vacation travel with a Travel Agent. We paid $2300.00 for both my husband and I and here is what we got for that:

-6 nights in the Movie Themed Hotel - very quite and clean

-6 day park hopper to all 4 parks

food voucher paid up front - we paid $328.00 for the food (breakfast,snack,dinner). I saved every single receipt and when I added up the totals, It came in over $600.00 worth that we ate. We ate more than enough food.

Got to go in to certain parks earlier or later on certain days than other people.

I recommend when going on your Disney world Vacation to go when we did (see above) It was not crowded. We did not wait more than 20min in a line for a ride. They had all the Holiday lights up and holiday light shows went on.

Epcot Park is the best by far. You get to see all the different cultures, eat different culture foods.

I have never been on such a Stress Free trip before. We are planning our next Disney world Trip soon.

Disneyland

I grew up in Southern California most of my life and I have gone to Disneyland many a times. I went more as I got older. I used to do a lot of Mystery Shopping at Disneyland and I have come to know a lot about the place. I can say that they really take good care of Disneyland. I know that every spill is to be cleaned up within 15min. They wash down every light poll, every day.

Club 33 is an awesome club to eat at...We mystery shopped the restaurant...Excellent food and customer service

I love the atmosphere about Disney. Friendly People, Great Food...If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with their service, give them a call and let someone there know of what you found. They take pride in achieving the utmost of highest customer service possible.

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of Crystal Skull, Harrison Ford rocks in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of Crystal Skull Indiana Jones movies. I don't know if anyone will ever come close to being the Indiana Jones like Harrison Ford, well except for Shia LaBeou, I think maybe he might work out as the continuance of The Adventures of Indiana Jones. And from this movie, Shia LaBeou, plays as Indy's son, which he didn't know was his son for awhile in the movie.

This movie is set in the desert Southwest in 1957 Harrison Ford plays in the Indiana Jones film series has an older and wiser version of Indy battling agents of the Soviet Union. Indy is assisted by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) as well as a greaser,Shia LaBeouf and fellow archaeologist Mac (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also play fellow academics.

The Incredible HULK Movie

If you have not seen the HULK movie yet, this is a must see movie starring Edward Norton as the Hulk. Edward Norton is an awesome actor. He's an usual actor from what I see. It's like a love hate relationship with Edward Norton. You hate the character he plays, but love him as the great actor undoubtedly is.

It's a sequel of the old Hulk movies, but every time a sequel is made on any movie, it just seems to get better. Especially with the technology that we acquire every day. I mean look at the old HULK movies compared to this new HULK movie and see the astonishing effects that they now have.

It's no wonder that teenage boys see the HULK as a comic book superhero. Especially since a scrawny actor is cast as a comic book superhero. But not just for the teenage boys, the HULK is for all ages. We adults don't just see the HULK as a superhero movie, but we as adults enjoy the effects that they have included in the movie. To us, that is what make the movie awesome.

Movie: Iron Man

Here's another fabulous movie. IRON MAN, Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howar. This was a big come back for Robert Downey Jr.

I don't think anyone could have done a better job at Iron Man than Robert Downey Jr. This movie gave him a great come back after overcoming his personal life troubles. I've always liked Robert Downey Jr. and I felt really sad when his personal life started to go down the drain. He's a awesome actor and I'm glad he is back on track.

Robert Downey Jr. redefines what it takes to be a superhero in Iron Man. A high society weapons magnate, who is wounded in Afghanistan, and is captured by the enemies, to build them a powerful weapon, only to transform himself into a hulking mechanical rocket.

Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect pick for this film

Disney World

I was told the best time to Vacation at Disney World was just after Thanksgiving, So I called our travel agent and made our reservations for Nov. 29, 2007 to Dec. 05, 2007. We included our 6 night stay at the Movies Theme Hotel at Disney World. We got a great Vacation Package Deal. It was the less expensive of the hotels. Afterall, we were only going to spend time in the room to lay our heads to sleep and shower. I didn't want to be spending my time in a hotel room, so we got the less expensive of the hotels. We included a 6dy park hopper for both of us and a Meal Voucher.
Upon arrival with to Florida, via American Airlines, we took the Disney World free shuttle to the hotel, which was easy, fast and convenient. Although, it was free to ride, we did give the bus driver a couple dollars tip. We proceeded to check in at the hotel counter. They gave us a Disney World pin to wear and told us to wear it our first day, as we would get discounts on some stuff with the pin. It was a first time at Disney World pin. We had a smooth check in. They gave us a blue card, the size of a credit card. They explained to us that this card would get us the following:

1. Our rooms - 2. Into the Parks - 3. Meals

We thought this was cool. One Card for all uses. Very Convenient indeed.

There was always a shuttle going to the entrance to DW. Each shuttle had a sign on front as to which park they were stopping at.

The wait time to get into the parks was around 15min. The lines to rides was minimal. Through out our whole stay, we never had to wait in a ride line more than 15min. We barely even used the fast pass

Disney's Magic Kingdom:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – This is a fun roller coaster. It’s not especially scary so the more adventurous.

Space Mountain – A dark and fast coaster. A little bit scarier than Big Thunder so it may not be right for the young ones. Classic Disney World.

Haunted Mansion - It was nice, but I think that the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is much better.

Pirates of Caribbean - Again, this was nice, but not as nice of a ride as the one at Disneyland.

Disney's Animal Kingdom:

Killimanjaro Safari – The other must see. You get to take a ride in a jeep, like a real safari. You will see real animals, Lions, Tigers & Bears...Oh My! And don't forget your camera for lots of pictures.

Tower of Terror – Very scary, (at least I think so, I'm a big baby) but loads of fun. We went at night, 4 times in a row and didn't wait more than 5 min.

Rock n’ Roll roller coaster – Fast, scary, fun coaster, but I would not take the little ones on this one. May be the best roller coaster at Disney World. My Husband especially loved it because he loves Aerosmith and that is the music they play for this ride.

Disney's Epcot: Epcot is a great place to see fireworks and eat dinner at restaurants from hot dogs to fine dining.

Disney's Mission Space – Fun. Can be scary for the kids so be careful.

Test Track – Way too cool. Very Fast and this one can be a little scary, but some kids will like it.

Future World - Kids & Adults will love this one.

World Showcase - This is the most beautiful part of all the parks

We paid $328.00 for our meal voucher for 2 adults for 6 dys of Breakfast, Snack and Dinner.(pricing may have gone up by now) When I got home I added up all of our receipts and they totaled up well over $600.00. and we did not pay nothing more than the $328.00. So we got double the food, we tried the different culture foods and we didn't even eat the total allotted amount for each day. It was amazing. Just to not have to worry about spending money on food.

Best time of Year to go to Disney World:

1) These are the most crowded times at Disney:

President's Day week

Spring Break

Summer(2nd week of June to 3rd week of August)

Thanksgiving weekend

Christmas week to just after New Year's

2) These are the least crowded times to go to Disney World:

2nd week of January to 1st week of February (except Martin Luther King holiday weekend of course)

3rd week of August to the start of October

The month of November (except for Thanksgiving weekend)

The week after Thanksgiving up to week of Christmas (we went Nov. 29th to Dec. 5th and it was perfect time to go...but ssshhh! don't tell anyone)

And if you are military, ask for Military Discounts.
